FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.
What age range does the True Bandana fit?
This varies as each child is unique, but generally the Fox and Owl Kids True Bandana fits age 3 months to 7 years. The snap buttons in the back allow for three different sizes.
What are the measurements of the True Bandanas?
The True Bandanas are 12.0 inches tall and 12.0 inches wide when laid flat and unfolded. They have a wide neck opening for a comfortable fit and are large enough for coverage, at the same time small enough to have a unique tailored look to them.
Can I use the True Bandana on a new born?
The initial use will vary depending on your baby, however, we have had customers start using them around 8 weeks or 20lbs. Please use your own judgement with your baby.
Are the True Bandanas snap or velcro?
The True Bandana uses high-quality non-lead buttons, adjustable to three sizes. Velcro can scratch the back of the baby's neck and is not as secure.
Are your products machine-washer safe?
Yes. Even though our bandanas come pre-shrunk, organic cotton tends to shrink approximately 8% on average. The added benefit of using 100% organic cotton is that many users say it becomes softer each time they wash it. We recommend you wash them with similar colors, do not bleach, tumble dry on low heat and, if needed, use a cool iron.
What is the country of origin of your products?
All Fox and Owl Kids products are designed in Colorado, U.S.A. and currently our 100% organic cotton is sourced and sewn in India. Everything is shipped from the U.S.A.
Are there any safety warnings for your products?
Please remove the True Bandana before nap/bedtime. Please do not leave your child unattended while using the True Bandana as it may get caught on another object.
What kind of certifications has Fox and Owl Kids received as it regards to 100% organic cotton?
Fox and Owl Kids has a Certificate for textile processed per "Global Organic Textile Standards" (GOTS), which confirms that the cotton is 100% Organic Cotton.
What kind of testing has been completed to ensure the quality of the product?
Fox and Owl Kids 24+ separate tests from two global third party testing providers. Tests included Fiber Identification, Dimensional Stability After Wash, Appearance After Wash, Color Fastness to Non-Chlorine Bleach, Color Fastness to Laundering, Spirality Test, Color Fastness to Light, Color Fastness to Crocking, Color Fastness to Water, Physical and Mechanical Hazards, Labelling, Workmanship, Fabric Weight, Attachment Strength, Color Fastness to Saliva, Bursting Strength, Formaldehyde Content, pH Test, Nickel Spot Testing, Toxic Elements in Packaging Material, Sharp Points / Edges, Phthalate Test, Total Lead Content and Snapping/Unsnapping.
How does the donation to feed a child in need work?
Fox and Owl Kids has a partnership with Mary’s Meals (https://www.marysmealsusa.org/). With every True Bandana box set purchased, Fox and Owl Kids will donate money to mary’s meals for 1-month of school meals to a child while they attend school. The amount is based on the approximate global average cost to provide a single mary’s meals to a child in their place of education for one month.

Mary’s Meals core message includes: “Mary’s Meals is a simple idea that works – by providing a daily meal in a place of education, chronically poor children are attracted to the classroom where they can gain a basic education that provides an escape route from poverty. Our vision is that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education and that all those who have more than they need, share with those who lack even the most basic things. Our mission is to enable people to offer their money, goods, skills, time, or prayer, and through this involvement, provide the most effective help to those suffering the effects of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest communities.”

As of their latest report, mary’s meals feeds 1,230,171 children every day at school in 14 different countries, across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, including Haiti, Ecuador, Liberia, Benin, Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Syria, Lebanon, India, Myanmar and Thailand. They also have a commitment to keeping running costs low, with at least 93% of donations being spent on charitable activities.
